NJ ranks 5th nationally for residential solar — and for good reason. Between high utility rates, generous incentives, and full net metering, the math is hard to argue with.

YOUR UTILITY RATE — BEFORE & AFTER SOLAR

NJ electricity rates vary by utility. Here's what homeowners in each service area typically pay — and what solar does to that number. We handle interconnection with all three utilities.

Utility Current Rate (¢/kWh) Est. Monthly Bill After Solar (Net Metering) Typical Annual Savings
PSE&G 13.46¢ ~$150/mo ~$10–30/mo $1,400–$1,700/yr
JCP&L 14.61¢ ~$165/mo ~$10–30/mo $1,600–$1,900/yr
Atlantic City Electric 18.20¢ ~$200/mo ~$15–35/mo $1,900–$2,200/yr
NJ Average ~17.7¢ ~$190/mo ~$15–35/mo $1,800–$2,100/yr

Estimates based on average NJ household usage (~1,100 kWh/mo). Actual savings depend on system size, usage, and sun exposure.

What Makes Us Different

WE'RE YOUR SOLAR ADVISOR,
NOT JUST ANOTHER INSTALLER

Most solar companies only sell you their brand. We work with multiple premium solar manufacturers and installation partners — and help you get the best option for your specific home, roof, and usage profile. No brand loyalty. No commission bias. Just honest advice.

We handle the entire process from start to finish: system design, permitting, installation, utility interconnection, and monitoring setup. You don't chase anyone. We handle it.

And we'll be honest if solar doesn't make financial sense for your home. If your roof is too shaded, your usage is too low, or the numbers don't work — we'll tell you. Our reputation matters more than any single sale.

From Analysis to Activation

HOW WE DO IT

Six clear steps. One point of contact throughout. No surprises.

01
Energy Analysis
We analyze your past 12 months of utility bills to right-size your system. A system sized to your actual usage — not a generic estimate — is the difference between a great investment and a mediocre one.
02
Site Assessment
We assess your roof age, condition, shading patterns, and orientation. If your roof needs attention before solar, we'll tell you — and we can handle both in one seamless project.
03
System Design
We design a custom system sized to your actual energy usage — panel count, inverter type, string layout, and monitoring setup. You see everything before a single bolt is turned.
04
Permits & HOA
We pull all required municipal permits and handle any HOA requirements on your behalf. This phase typically takes 4–8 weeks — and you don't lift a finger during it.
05
Installation Day
Our certified crew installs your panels, inverter, and monitoring system — typically in 1 to 2 days. Clean job site. No mess left behind. System tested before we leave.
06
Utility Interconnection
We coordinate directly with your utility — PSE&G, JCP&L, or Atlantic City Electric — to activate net metering and flip your system on. When it's live, your meter starts running backward.

Money Left on the Table Every Year You Wait

NJ SOLAR INCENTIVES

New Jersey has one of the most incentive-rich solar environments in the country. Here's what's available to you right now.

Federal
30%
Investment Tax Credit (ITC)
30% of your total system cost comes directly off your federal tax bill — not as a deduction, but a dollar-for-dollar credit. On a $30,000 system, that's $9,000 back from the IRS.
NJ State
SREC-II
Solar Renewable Energy Credits
NJ pays you credits for every 1,000 kWh your system generates — for 15 years. These credits are sold to utilities and represent ongoing income on top of your utility savings.
NJ Utility
1:1
Full Net Metering
NJ offers full retail net metering — meaning you get credited at the full retail rate for every kWh you send to the grid. On sunny months, your meter runs backward.
NJ Tax
0%
Sales Tax Exemption
Solar equipment is completely exempt from NJ sales tax. Zero sales tax on panels, inverters, racking, or installation materials. Every dollar saved here improves your ROI.
NJ Property
$0
Property Tax Exemption
Solar adds ~4% to your home's value — but NJ law prohibits your property taxes from increasing because of it. You gain home equity with zero tax penalty.
$0 Down
Today
Financing Options Available
Qualified homeowners can finance 100% with $0 down — with monthly payments often lower than their current utility bill. You start saving from day one.

Most homeowners who wait lose an average of $2,000–$4,000 in incentives per year of delay. Federal ITC rates are subject to change. NJ SREC-II program funding is limited. The best time to go solar was last year. The second best time is now.

  • $0 upfront, $0 maintenance
  • Pay only for what your panels produce
  • Rate locked below utility rate
  • Good option if tax credit isn't useful to you

WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS SAY

Common Questions

SOLAR FAQ

How big a system do I need?

System size depends entirely on your actual energy usage — not a generic estimate. We analyze your past 12 months of utility bills to right-size your system. Oversizing wastes money; undersizing leaves savings on the table. We get it right.

Does my roof need to be replaced before solar?

If your roof is older than 10–12 years, we usually recommend doing both at the same time. Removing and remounting solar panels for a future roof replacement costs $2,000–$5,000 extra. Doing roof and solar together — one contract, one crew — avoids that entirely.

How does NJ net metering work?

Under NJ's net metering program, you get full retail credit for every kWh your solar system sends to the grid. On sunny days, your panels may produce more than you use — and that excess energy earns you credits at the full retail rate. On cloudy days or at night, you draw from the grid and use those credits. Your annual bill is the net of what you consumed vs. what you generated.

What if I have PSE&G / JCP&L / Atlantic City Electric?

We work with all three utilities serving Middlesex County and handle the interconnection process for each. PSE&G, JCP&L, and Atlantic City Electric each have their own application process and timeline — we know them all and manage the paperwork entirely on your behalf.

How long does the whole process take?

System design and permitting typically takes 4–8 weeks, depending on your municipality and utility. The actual installation is typically 1–2 days. Utility interconnection and activation can take an additional 2–4 weeks after installation. Total timeline from contract to live system: approximately 8–16 weeks.

No Pressure. No Commitment. Just Numbers.
